"Just over a year ago I found two matching 1970s bridesmaid dresses at the local thrift store. I kept one and sent the other to Rowena Meadows (who I barely knew) because she was the only one who might, I don't know, get it. Neither of us realised the introspective self portraits they would inspire, or how essential these characters would become to our lives and friendship. And now our postcard portraits are shortlisted for The Australian Photography Awards STORIES 2020."
